This was in this morning's email.

Presented here as an interesting idea, so the specific contact details
for additional information or purchase information have been
eliminated
from this post. In the unlikely event that somebody would be
interested
in contacting the firm that makes this device, Email me at

and I'll send the contact info via that route:

Hi Chuck,

Chuck, remind me again how this is not SPAM.

Chuck works for a magazine. Magazines have new product pages which are
nothing but a brief mention of thing that might be interesting to
readers.

I understand. I would have had no problem with Chucks post if he did
not copy an email he received from a manufacturer specifically
mentioning their products name and with Chuck offering to act as
middleman to facilitate the sale of the stuff.

As it stood his post was pure Spam and as Head Sheriff of the NG he
should have know that and modified his post as I suggested. I am just
reminding him of the rules so he learns to walk the walk.

It is interesting to see his deputies come to his rescue though. (not
you Doug). ;-)

Maybe he's trying to decide whether to give it space in the magazine. But,
that doesn't matter. If you don't like certain messages, DON'T ****IN' LOOK
AT THEM, PUSS WAD.

He just HAS to stir ****. It's his only reason for living.

Stay tuned. Soon he'll probably post another apology. He'll be up to about
#32 then.

I haven't seen you here before, but from your summation, it appears you
have been reading rec.boats.

??????????????

I offered to pass along the website, etc, that I deleted from the
original product description.
I have no reason to "facilitate the sale" of this product. No skin off
my nose one way or the other if everybody buys one, nobody buys one,
etc.

Sheriff, get outa town. Is boating related, and you can go to any pool
supply store and see one. There are cases of kids falling off boats and not
being noticed as missing for a time.

I understand that. And the parents of those dead kids are idiots for
leaving their children unattended...even for a few seconds.

And you were never inattentive to your kids? My children went to Drown
Proofing class as early as was possible. The were in diapers, and we had a
house with a pool several years before kids. We had oldest crawl out the
front door and down the street and around the corner. They are fast. We
lived on a court off a dead end street and she did stay on the sidewalk.
Yes I am a bad parent. Beat you to it. Also let my kids drive the dune
buggy when they were about 7 years old on private land. Slow and first gear
only.
