Since Reggie has also expressed an interest in the additional contact
information, I'll go ahead and list it here.

Safety Turtle (www.safetyturtle.com)
The Safety Turtle Wireless Alarm is an ingenious combination of
wireless signal-outfitted wristbands/collarbands and a wireless base
station receiver that sounds an alarm the instant a child or pet falls
or ventures into water. The base station can be positioned anywhere
between 200 and 1500 feet away from the water(depending on model
desired). Safety Turtle retails for $235 and can be purchased online at
safetyturtle.com or at retail stores throughout the U.S and Canada.
So there ya go. I don't know anything more about this than what we have
all read here, but for those interested in additional investigation
that would be the starting point.
If they could find a large enough market to offset the fixed cost, the
price could come down considerable, but with the cost of boats, the $235
is nothing. For the cost of winterizing a small boat, you get long term
piece of mind.
There is a huge market. Swimming pools and that is the major target. I bet
a lot of that cost is insurance.
