Has anyone had any experience with the 3.0hp model GameFisher
air-cooled motor? I am considering buying a used one from a guy nearby but want to make sure its a worthwhile purchase. I'm looking at paying between $125-$150 if its a working unit, and will use it on my 12' Jon Boat in Wilmington, NC. From the looks of it, it's very similar to the 'Cruise and Carry' motor I had previously (which is now broken down) |

I had a Sears Gamefisher 3 hp many years ago; it was reliable but loud. They
were built by Tanaka for Sears until 2002, but were discontinued because they didn't meet emissions standards. They don't break, and if you can take the noise they are a pretty good motor.
