I don't want to hear another lie from either side about their promises

I'm sick of the evolving Police State.
I'm sick of every damned thing associated with Washington Politics,
State Politics, and Local Politics and their Owners.
I'm sick of being sick about corrupt Politicians and "news" programs
that report how corrupt the other side is and how their side is less
corrupt an morally superior.
Is there any sanctuary away from their madness?

Rather surprised this is on a 'boat' group!

However: After 27 postings (so far) on this thread.

....................... Yeah the US got problems!
......................................

Can't even run an election without dissent?

And USA not used to 'not' being the 'top cheese', 'major power', 'world
leader' etc. in everything, eh?

The various postings demonstrate every emotion from 'flight' to
'fight'. For examples;
a) Get on my boat and leave?
b) Wait two years and things will be back to (abnormal)!

Q: In an original post "a family earning $50K is only paying, what was
it $3.5K in taxes?????"

Must be a misprint?

But if so that's only 7%.

Very, very low by world standards. So no wonder we're not getting
services deserved from government.

Also sounds as if US legislators (Rep/Dem) may be in the hands
(pockets) of big industry? Some significant decisions seem to benefit
commercial profit not the citizenry?

Ah woe is me! Might even have to de-emigrate. Wonder if I can take my
boat with me?

Signed; Candidate for Senate or maybe Governor of California? (Oops;
don't qualify. Wasn't born in the US. In fact don't even have a green
card!).

If you look at most of the newly elected Democrats you'll notice that
their much more middle of the road than in the past. Yes, they were
talking against the war, but they weren't pushing the adgenda of old.
They weren't talking about abortion, they weren't talking about gun
control, they weren't talking about the things that most people
consider side issues. When you get right down to it most Americans are
politically, middle of the road. They don't like the nuts in the
Republican or Democratic partys. So when one party swings too far in
one direction, as the Democrats did before the Republicans came into
power, and as the Republicans did coming up to this election, the
voters revolt, as they did. Now the killer will be if the old Democrats
decide to push the old adgenda. The likes of Ted Kennedy (when is he
going to die and make this world a better place), just won't be able to
hold himself back. Some of them are going to beleave the voters put
them in power to make lots of changes. The truth is they came into
power mostly because of the war (and some changes that do need to be
made). If they can't stay middle of the road, they'll be gone as well.
Just my two cents.
John
