We have those damned electronic voting machines in Maryland, the ones
that do not provide any printed record of your vote.

I asked the polling "referee" why I should trust these machines to
produce an honest count, and she said, "Well, I feel secure about them."

To which I responded, "What are your credentials? Who are you? Why
should I trust you?" She really had no answers that were satisfactory.

Why would you become confrontational with someone who has no decision
making authority? She is a very nice volunteer, who was laughing at you
as soon as you walked away. Even if she agrees with your assessment,
she was laughing at your behavior.

No, she wasn't, because at least five other people around me were asking
her the same questions.

Then she laughed at all of you.

Perhaps you take the voting process lightly. I don't.

She was laughing at your inability to make speak your displeasure about
the voting machines in an effective manner. You asking a poll volunteer
"What are your credentials? Who are you? Why should I trust you?" makes
as much sense as screaming at the moon, both of them are just as
effective in changing the voting process. Perhaps if you did take the
voting process seriously, and really wanted to make a change, you would
realize how completely ineffective your confrontational behavior is and
so something that would make a difference. My guess is you enjoy the
confrontation, and really don't care if they change the machines.

You assume the woman was a "volunteer." She was not. She introduced
herself as a "supervisor" from the state board of elections, and was
wearing a state ID nameplate. We had some serious problems during the
primaries some weeks ago, and the board of elections caught hell.

Perhaps you ought to have a few facts on hand before you drool in here,
hey?

Perhaps you should understand that yelling and asking them "What are
your credentials? Who are you? Why should I trust you?" , at anyone
during the voting process has no effect on the system, no matter what
their position is. The fact that you do not realize this will make you
completely ineffective campaigning for anything you believe in.

The FBI is in Virginia, investigating Republican intimidation of voters.

In all my voting life I have never been nor have I ever seen a voter or
voters being intimidated.

This whole voting process now sickens me thanks to your party.

Yeah....sure Harry. It is always the white, black and Hispanic city
dwellers who are always the ones subject to intimidation.
