I asked the polling "referee" why I should trust these machines to

To which I responded, "What are your credentials? Who are you? Why
should I trust you?" She really had no answers that were satisfactory.

Why would you become confrontational with someone who has no decision
making authority? She is a very nice volunteer, who was laughing at you
as soon as you walked away. Even if she agrees with your assessment,
she was laughing at your behavior.

No, she wasn't, because at least five other people around me were asking
her the same questions.

Then she laughed at all of you.

She was laughing at your inability to make speak your displeasure about
the voting machines in an effective manner. You asking a poll volunteer
"What are your credentials? Who are you? Why should I trust you?" makes
as much sense as screaming at the moon, both of them are just as
effective in changing the voting process. Perhaps if you did take the
voting process seriously, and really wanted to make a change, you would
realize how completely ineffective your confrontational behavior is and
so something that would make a difference. My guess is you enjoy the
confrontation, and really don't care if they change the machines.

According to that well know conservative, Keith Olbermann of MSNBC, a few
people reported getting anonymous phone calls telling the recipient that
their voting location had changed and gave them a location in which the
voter could not vote.

There is no evidence yet that this is being done by any political
organization nor does it sound like intimidation to me. But anyway, that's
why the FBI was called in by the head of the Virginia election overseers.

Who knows?

It might have been good for them.

We have those damned electronic voting machines in Maryland, the ones

I asked the polling "referee" why I should trust these machines to

To which I responded, "What are your credentials? Who are you? Why
should I trust you?" She really had no answers that were satisfactory.

Why would you become confrontational with someone who has no decision
making authority? She is a very nice volunteer, who was laughing at
you as soon as you walked away. Even if she agrees with your
assessment, she was laughing at your behavior.

No, she wasn't, because at least five other people around me were asking
her the same questions.

Go complain to the Elections Commissioner in your county.

Perhaps you take the voting process lightly. I don't.

You were ****ing on the working stiff again.

She was laughing at your inability to make speak your displeasure
about the voting machines in an effective manner. You asking a
poll volunteer "What are your credentials? Who are you? Why should
I trust you?" makes as much sense as screaming at the moon, both
of them are just as effective in changing the voting process.
Perhaps if you did take the voting process seriously, and really
wanted to make a change, you would realize how completely
ineffective your confrontational behavior is and so something that
would make a difference. My guess is you enjoy the confrontation,
and really don't care if they change the machines.
You assume the woman was a "volunteer." She was not. She introduced
herself as a "supervisor" from the state board of elections, and
was wearing a state ID nameplate. We had some serious problems
during the primaries some weeks ago, and the board of elections
caught hell.

Perhaps you ought to have a few facts on hand before you drool in
here, hey?

Say hello to the new tactics of the Democrats in Election 2006.

Really? The Republican governor of this state urged voters to obtain
absentee ballots because he had no confidence in the electronic
machines.

Let's see who starts to file the lawsuits.

Oops, the Dems have already filing them in Ohio, even before the
voting sites close at 7:30. ;-)

The FBI is in Virginia, investigating Republican intimidation of voters.

Democrats posing as Republicans.

I didn't like most of them myself but there were constitutional
amendments I had an opinion on and some of the candidates were worse
than the other enough to get me down there. Not voting means you don't
even care and that is the mandate they like to have when they screw
you.

Nope. No amendments or special ballots. And no good choices.
This is a solid Dem district, and I don't like the Dem. I had an
extended e-mail exchange with the Republican candidate after
asking a simple question: "What is your position on illegal
immigration?" His initial answer was, "Improve the economy of
Mexico," and it went downhill from there.
Not voting this time out was a good exercise of my constitutional
rights. And I'm damned proud of it.

Right, Democrats posing as Republicans to lower Webb's vote.
Have you been a brainless ass all your life?

If you wanted the issue rather than the responsibility.
