It looks like it might be a fabric skinned aircraft. It was aluminum, except for the control surfaces which were fabric covered. Which is why you see the bare frames of the control surfaces in the pictures. I wonder how many people there are in the U.S. that still do that? I believe it's still included in the curriculum of most aircraft mechanic programs. There are still quite a few airplanes in service that are at least partially fabric covered. |
