Default So, do you feel lucky?

With the low fuel prices now will you be topping off the gas/diesel tank on
your boat before you put her to bed for the winter or will you gamble that
prices will be lower come next Spring?

I will probably top off before the boat goes to the storage yard as I am now
on trailer.

Good idea to add some StaBil. I have.

I'll use mine most of the winter.

Not a good idea to top off. Always leave some room for expansion. (Based on
experience!)

I always fill the tank (leaving room for expansion) to minimize
condensation, not to play the "gas market" Fuel Stabilizer is added and
I run the engine for 10-15 min. to make sure the stabilizer makes it way
into the fuel system.

Vapors expand and contract a lot. Liquid fuel expands a very little.
Built-in gas tanks in boats are vented. There will be more absorbtion of
water vapor during the vapor expansion/contraction cycles than with the tank
full of fuel.

That's what I think.

Well, when the fuel leaks out the vent and takes off the decals on the side
of the boat, you'll understand why completely filling the tank is not a
good idea. :)

Nobody is talking about *completely* filling up the tank John.

I'm going to try to make a couple more days to the lake this year, and
on the last day, I'll throw in the sta-bil or seafoam, then fill it up.
blast the lake , then fill it up again.

I fill the tank to the point where the pump handle clicks off and thats
it. otherwise gas comes out the vent .
