I have.

And to add insult to injury, I opened a Pay Pal account (which is
owned by eBay I believe) because sometimes people want to pay for
things via Pay Pal (which is fine) and within a half hour, I received
three phishing Pay Pal messages asking me to confirm my account.

That afternoon I received four more - next day six in the morning and
a couple more in the afternoon.

Now you tell me why that happened.

Add insult to injury - there is a blog that I donate to using that
same Pay Pal account and the same thing happened as when I opened it.

And I get at least two or three a week about the Pay Pal account.

I do not have a paypal account and get the same phishing messages.
