Now that was some ride!
Speaking of surfing... I saw a program on cable tv about the old 'Woody'
cars that the surfers used. Seems they are some of the most expensive
antique vehicles to buy & restore these days. Some models looked crappy,
but some were absolute beauties..... especially the ones that looked like
safari wagons.

And the reason the surfers bought woodies was because they were the cheapest
station wagon to buy. Carry the board and sleep in the back. The wood
looked bad after a couple of years, so they made it to the wrecker or the
dirt cheap auto sales lot.
