Friends,
I have a 1993 Genesis with a Merc Alpha One 4.3LX. It's going in the water for the first time in 18 months. The shift cable was replaced 18 months ago. I just got the shift cable adjusted because it didn't 'feel' right when a adjusted the throttle/shifter when I tried to start it for the first time on the trailer. I put the propeller on and gave it a playful spin before I had the shifter adjusted. When I picked it up and brought it home I gave the prop another playful spin and now it makes a loud clicking noise. It's never made this sound before when I've spun the prop while it's on the trailer. The shifter is in neutral. Sorry but I don't know a lot about marine engines. Thanks Steve |
