My brother in law was stationed there during his later years (1980's) in the Navy as an aircraft carrier Commander. You know, all the young people that I've met who are currently serving in the military impress the bananas out of me. They are sharp, much better educated and far more professional than the goofus'es that were in in my time, (me included). Even the Navy has continuous physical condition requirements that must be met and I was reading some of the training and continuing education requirements that they are required to participate in. Believe it or not, some even include social graces type seminars, including reception line protocol and foreign country tradition and relations programs. The only "training" I got was what bars were off-limits. Eisboch So true. Some folks think the kids are joining because they aren't smart enough or educated enough to do anything else.
