Johnson outboard control level function
I am a newbie boater (bought a used bass boat last year). and have
some questions about the functions of the control lever and a primer solenoid. The outboard is a Johnson V6, 150 HP outboard, circa 1990 The boat has a side mounted shift lever with red buttons on the thumbside and another on the underside of the handle. What are the functions of these buttons? On the engine, there is this little cyclindrical black unit, about 2-3" long, maybe 1-2 " dia, with a red lever. However, it has no marking which way it is supposed to be set. Can anyone here shed a light on how to set his lever? Given this info, can someone help me give a step by step procedure on how to start the engine? (I have a garden hose attachment for starting the engine out of the water) TIA for your help. |
