Let me see if can describe each of the behaviors that I experienced. Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated. Sounds like the trim switch at the throttle has failed. Odds are the internal contact has popped loose and is making when you don't want it to. Well, I did some more troubleshooting this afternoon and was able to reproduce the behavior with the boat out of the water and the engine off. It seems that the runaway trimming occurs only when the ignition is on. This happens from both the throttle and motor trim switches so long as the ignition is on. When the ignition is off, I don't have any problems with either of the switches. Any ideas? |
