rec.boats is a better boating forum today, than it was 8 months ago.
As a boater, you really should thank him for contributing to a better NG
to discuss and read boating topics.

On the other hand this is not a humor newsgroup, with the possible
exception of *boat* humor, and there is plenty of that at times. And
it is really not the right place to do behavioral study no matter how
entertaining it may be.
