There's not enough time in a week to tell you about all the great
experiences I have had in Appalachian whitewater.

Thanks for your reply. Please tell me about a great experience you had
floating in the Eastern Tennessee whitewater rivers. Thanks again for
your help!

My favorite vacation ever was a 5 day private trip down the Middle Fork
of the Salmon in Idaho. We camped out on splendid beaches everynight -
one was across the river from a hot spring which we visited in the
dark, another had its own waterfall streaming down the riverbank across
from us, a third was in the pines and had lots of wildlife. The rapids
were fun but not too hard. There were hikes to see ancient
petroglyphs. And everytime we turned around another river bend, the
scenery changed and was breathtaking each and every time. Plus, we had
an interesting and fun group of people.

Up in time to drive the van (and the boat inside) down to the boatramp by
about 7AM. It was sort of misty and it sprinkled off and on but in a kayak
with a sprayskirt and rain top I don't care a bit if it rains. There are
no other people (scared away by the weather, I guess) but the wildlife just
considers it a normal day, if a bit overcast and damp. It's spring so
critters are doing spring things, like protecting their nests and stuff
(you don't want to get too close to a goose nest). I spent the whole day
just paddling and floating around and watching stuff and didn't even notice
the passage of time.
