I just purchased a Raymarine Ray54 radio for my Sea Fox 197CC, and am trying to decide where to put it. I currently do not have a T-Top, but I plan to add in a year or so, and the radio would be placed there permanently. My console does not have a radio box, so my options are top mount (exposed to weather) or flush mount (requires a big hole). I don't want to flush mount it, because of the hole, but I am worried that exposure to weather would cause problems after awhile. Any suggestions? Should I put it inside my console for the time being in a box? If it were me, and if I were going to put a t-top on the boat, I would just lay it on the console and not mount it at all. If you're in rough stuff, you might hold it in place with a bungee cord or some such, but I wouldn't drill *any* holes. Is this the boat? http://www.seafoxboats.com/centerconsole/197cc.html Nice boat. Damn if I'd want any extra holes after remounting the radio. Those things will take rain pretty well. -- 'Til next time, John H ****************************************** ***** Have a Spectacular Day! ***** ****************************************** |
