I think my last pair was a Sunglass Hut proprietary brand......no longer available. My eyes are pretty sensitive to sunlight. Any suggestions? Glass? You don't mean glass. You mean high quality plastic. Why not glass? Plastic qualifies as a "sports" or "safety" lens. Nice for deflecting flying objects, like fishing lures. Glass does not. Bull****. I fish more than you do and have had more than one lure come flying at me - never a problem. No scratches and never a break. You are on the wrong end of this one Doug. :) Only glass glasses I had, were way heavy. |

BTW--I like Costa Del Mar more than Maui Jim's. Thanks for the suggestions. I do have a Sunglass Hut near me and plan to take a look at their collection. Gander Mountain carries the Costa Del Mar brand and I will stop there tomorrow. Nice tip jps.....I will do that after I find the pair that works for me. Tried both the Maui Jim and Costa Del Mar brands and liked the MJ's better (Big Island style). $320 with sales tax at Sunglass Hut. Purchased them today on Ebay for $220 including shipping and insurance. Brand new with registration and case. You can't beat Ebay! |

Get a good pair of Ray-Bans with polarized glass. After 10 years and you're not happy with them, return them for a full refund and get the latest style. Eddie Costco tells you to return them to Rayban if they are defective. Rayban == worst warrantee in sunglass land. |

Eddie Costco tells you to return them to Rayban if they are defective. Rayban == worst warrantee in sunglass land. Not true. Costco has a lifetime "satisfaction guarantee" as apposed to a "warranty" from the manufacturer. Their agreement with their suppliers is that they will accept returns with no questions asked. I've returned all kinds of stuff. Some cause they didn't work, or I didn't like, or I just simply wanted to upgrade (except computers, they are six months). Hell, I even took a garden hose that was leaking at the male crimp and they didn't even ask for a receipt. Found I had bought it 4 years or so ago. btw, this guarantee by Costco is not widely publized. But just ask any employee that is in some supervisory position, they'll tell 'ya. As for the Ray-Ban warrantee. I had a pair of Wayfarers my daughter bought at a Goodwill store for a few bucks. After a while I cracked the frame after dropping them umpteen times. I packaged them up and sent them in to Ray-Ban. They were replaced with a brand-new pair. I told them they were a gift and I had no receipt. Eddie I had 2 aviators break at the temple piece. Sent them to Rayban, they said where is receipt and only 3 months warrantee. As to Costco, glasses may be different. But they said send to Rayban. I did, I no longer will buy a Rayban product. |

I drove into the sun with them on today (mid morning) and did the trick. Thanks for all the great advice. ;-) |

Last summer I got a pair of MJ trifocals. I'll never admit how much I paid
for them but it was shocking. Getting the laser surgery then wearing nonscrip glasses would be cheaper than replaceing them twice. Sure do like them though!! Jim,
Try the MJs. Took about 10 days to get them back from MJ after they ground the lenses but for scrip glasses they sure are superior. I've been wearing scrip sunglasses for too many years but so far, none as nice as the MJs. Butch " JimH" jimh_osudad@yahooDOT comREMOVETHIS wrote in message ...
