Hi,
I'm looking for advice on buying a boat for sport-fishing in Africa. Well, more specifially I am looking for advice on what sort of engine I should be looking out for with regard to reliability. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers |

You say "Africa" but that can be lots of places & exactly where can be relevant. Up the top & down the bottom of Africa you can get parts & in places like Sth Africa world franchise service etc for most of the big brands including, Cat, Cummins, Volvo, Yanmar etc. All these engines are sport boat oriented or at least can be had as sport boat high output engines so they're reasonably "high tech" which is a good thing. If you're talking some of the more remote or less developed parts of Africa then you might consider a more easily maintained engine like any of the multitude of brands based on more old tech (say Perkins although the latest there is no longer low tech either:-)) K |
