I do not think you will see a difference, but I am not an expert. |

Tom,
I am very impressed with the quality of your pictures. All I have to say is you and JohnH suck. I started out looking at nice cheap point and shot cameras, now I am convinced I need to go with a DSLR so she can take more than stationary pictures. I keep hearing the time delay on the shutter makes it hard to take pictures when the subject is moving. As I said, you and JohnH suck for even mentioning the DSLR, and I hope you both end up in a special level of hell. Before you go to hell though, can you check out this combo pack and let me know what you think. http://www.expresscameras.com/prodet...?prodid=362726 "Shortwave Sportfishing" wrote in message ... You would be better served going with a Olympus E-300 kit system. Slightly decreased frame speed in action shots (2.5 fps vs 3.2 fps), but the four/thirds capture is far superior to that produced with standard CCD imagers. If you look around, you can still find them. It's a great camera for little money now as Oly just introduced the E-500. For that matter, for about $899, you can get a E-500 with the same lens kit as the E-300. I was so impressed with the E-300 and it's images, that I bought E-1 and E-500 bodies - I just swap lenses. At these kind of prices, I use the E-300 as my kick around camera - it goes with me everywhere. Here are some images for you to look at. http://www.swsports.org/images/ Two of these, (the Daemon images) are heavily processed, but you can't process if you don't have anything to work with. The experiment#1/#2 images were post processed only for noise. I'll add a couple more for you to look at in a few minutes. The rest are straight shots taken over a couple of days. They overlook my house and barn taken from a hill over three miles away. The lens was OEM - Sigma 50-200mm zoom, manual focus. If you want to discuss digital cameras, go to http://www.swsports.org and follow the email instructions - I'll be glad to go through other options with you. Later, Tom |

Tom,
Thanks a lot. It seems to have a great price compared to the other DSLR. "Shortwave Sportfishing" wrote in message ... The 1 gig card is a big help. The latest firmware upgrade for the E-300 has really taken great performance and made it better. If you do decide to obtain this camera package, email me and I'll give you some operating tips for the camera that I came about the hard way. Good luck. Tom |
