You'd never starve for attention. You'd be every man's favorite co-worker. Etc. Maybe you should hire one as a dental assistant. My wife wouldn't like that very much. But it might help correct the huge imbalance of female patients vs. male patients that I see. |

NOYB,
Is it possible you have more female patients due to your "additional" services you provide for free? "NOYB" wrote in message link.net... "Harry Krause" wrote in message ... Way back when, I worked for an ad agency run by a real genius of the business, EXCEPT...he kept hiring gorgeous secretaries and then started sleeping with them, and his wives kept finding out. Why? Because each of his three wives (when I knew him) had worked at the agency as his secretary. I have a friend who married one of his patients. Years later, in casual conversation he confided in her that he used to look down her blouse every time she came in to have dental work done. Big mistake! She automatically (and probably correctly so) assumed that he looked down the shirts of all his attractive female patients. |

Exactly......the best preof I had were the part timers that were "in" the profession.......the worst were the ones that had never worked a day in their lives......having gone straight from graduation to teaching........and many of them are still there. |

![]() And the conservative college professors? NOBBY wrote: Most have held a job in the business world...or lived an equally sheltered life but were raised in a Republican household. I see... in NOBBY-World, only conservative college professors have ever held jobs outside academia, and children of Republicans always grow up to be conservatives... Wait a minute, wasn't it you that pointed out something about Darwin and pangenesis? ![]() The best instructors at the dental school also held part-time faculty practices. I think that's true in any field. Certainly in engineering & medicine. And yet, somehow about 99% of the engineering profs I currently know are pretty strongly anti-Bush/Cheney. Does that make them "sheltered liberals"? Teaching is a noble profession. But at the college level, a good teacher needs real world experience to truly be effective. Agreed, and IMHO experience in the field is necessary for anything above the grammar school level. BTW please read the current Jane Bryan Quinn column about the housing market. She's right on the money. DSK |

![]() "Starbuck's Words of Wisdom" wrote in message ... NOYB, Is it possible you have more female patients due to your "additional" services you provide for free? Naww. There are several reasons why I believe that I see many more women than men: 1) A lot of dentistry is elective today. Women are much more likely to have cosmetic work done. 2) Women live longer. Many of the female patients are recently widowed. 3) Men usually wait until something hurts or falls out before going to the doctor/dentist |
