JohnH,
I think you hit the nail on the head. I wonder if I should forward a copy to Harry's wife. While the poor woman is not a Dr. Dr., as a social worker I am sure she could refer Harry to some excellent therapists. If he is this way in rec.boats, can you imagine what he is like at home. I think I understand why his wife let Harry spend his vacation on rec.boats. "PocoLoco" wrote in message ... Perhaps you ought to play choosies for a while. This is really bothering me now, not only does Harry have anal fixation, but he is envisioning sticking very large objects up his butt. I don't know why but it just seems very sick to me. I know what he does can not be healthy. Keep in mind what I said earlier about anal fixation and it's causes as you read the following excerpt from the Narcissistic Personality Disorder site I referenced in an earlier post: "Psychodynamic theories for the development of NPD revolve around issues of unmet basic childhood needs. Narcissistic defenses are innately present during the first eighteen months of an infant's life. The infant is able to experience being the center of his mother's world and a oneness with the mother develops. This makes the child feel powerful and omnipotent. The child's world has no limits. One theory suggests that near the end of the eighteen-month period a psychological transformation causes the disintegration of the child's oneness with the mother to occur. During the separation period if the mother was not responsive and sensitive to the child's needs during the first eighteen months then NPD will develop." Notice the time period and similarities between the two disorders. -- John H "All decisions are the result of binary thinking." |
