Default Yamaha Water Pump / Thermostat Issues

I have a 92 Yamaha 225 outboard, 300 hours on the motor. Bought it
with 275 hours on it. I have had it for about a 1.5 years and notice
now the water isnt ****ing out the hole as it once did. I ran
monofiliment in there but still doesnt flow like it use to.
Additionally, when I run it on the hose now it will give me a warning
after a few minutes which appears to be heat related.
If I am running in the river etc. I havent had any heat warnings but
I am wondering if it is just a matter of time.

Should I be considering the thermostats first then the water pump?

Does anyone have any feedback?

Thanks,
Keith
