Yamaha Water Pump / Thermostat Issues
Hey thanks for the EXTREMELY valuable feedback.. thats why I dig this
newsgroup so much!
Not only should the water pump and thermostats be replaced, due to the
motor's age and use, but remove the pressure relief valve, spring, and
rubber grommet and inspect for sticking, debris, or dislodging. It is the
oval housing fastened to the lower stb. side of the exhaust cover and
connected to about a 1" hose. Another thing to remember is that Yamaha V4
and V6 motors overheat easily on a flusher. It is best to use a dual feed
flusher or the rectangular muffs that Yammy sells.
