Some moderates and liberals do come close to hating Bush and Co for what they've done to America, and the divisive politics they've brought to the table. OTOH, it would appear the fringe groups that make up a big part of the Republican coalition indeed hate other Americans because they are different and don't fit the born again Christian, neocon vision of what the correct American should be. If you are gay, black, liberal, female, non-born again, poor, etc, hatred is heaped upon you by this ultra-right wing group. Bush by no means won any kind of a majority in the last election. He should have moderated his extremist policies to take into account the majority of voters who did not vote for him. Instead, he chose the extreme route, attacking anyone who didn't blindly agree with his obviously disasterious actions. Bush and Co can only blame themselves for the extreme animosity towards the current amdimistration. bb |
