only reason i ask is because i am having problem with the boat, filled up at
the gas station on the water saturday night, went out friday and on the way
back lost power, would not get above 3200 RPMS and also had a
clicking/clapping sound coming from the carb, so it sounded like. i figured
water in the fuel but when i emptied the filter nothing separated, just
turned foggy like that after 10 min....what do you think?

How old is it?

Does it have that potent "gas" smell?

I just pumped that from the station the other day, 45 gallons of it, why
would it come out clear/clean looking then turn foggy 10 min later? bad gas?
water in it?? The smell is from what I can tell, smells like gas

Not that I'm going to know what it is, but I'm a bit
confused at your "timeline" of events here. Is this
about right?

You pumped 45 gallons of gas into your
boat tank on Saturday.

On the way home you had problems where
you could not go above 3200 RPM without
loosing power.

Now you got this gas sample from your
tank at a point that is AFTER it goes
through your fuel filter.

The gas as it comes out of your boat's
system / fuel filter looks about normal
and "clear" but when it sets for 10 minutes
or so it gets cloudly like this.

??

Saturday night, pumped 45 gallons in, had about 1/4 when i filled
after I fill we drive home, everything seems fine

Sunday, go out for the day anchor, everythiing is fine. a few hours later we
pull anchor and head home, open her up, cruise for a bit, open here up for
at 4400rpms, a few seconds later I notice the rpms are at 3200. let off the
gas and try again, poor acceleration and power, only can get her up to 3500
or so. back off and check the prop, drive, open the engine compartment, oil
is fine. Let it sit for a few mintes and give it another shot, this time
while accelerating I hear a "click click", and very porr power and
acceleration, back off and try again, same thing. Open the hatch to see if I
can see where its comeing from and appears to be coming from the carb area.
get her in.

yesterdat decide to empty the fuel filter inthe container pictured in my
first post, no water separated from the gas and the gas looked clear. after
about 10 minutes I look back at the gas in the conatiner and it looks cloudy
like the picture above.

Not sure if this is normal either but right when I dumped the fuel into the
container it was clear and didnt separate, but i did notice some swirling in
it. Best way to describe it is if you take a beer, put it into a glass the
put an ice cube in it you will see that transparent swirling in the beer.

Check to see if you got a load of diesel. I had that happen years ago on a
1975 Chevy 350. Station paid for drain and repairs. They had delivered the
diesel in to the regular tank. Sounds like the same performance.
