Hopefully someone here can cast some light on this problem.
I have a 1999 100HP Yamaha 4 stroke outboard. The engine is leaking oil. It becomes most apparent when the engine is off and tilted forward. However I believe the leak occurs when the engine is running (under oil pressure) and simply shows itself more apparently when at rest (sfter pooling occurs in the pan). The problem is when I look at the service manual I can't see anyplace that may be leaking other then the oild pan itself (which is very difficult to get to). Anybody have any experience with this? Does anyone know the extent of the work involved in replacing an oil pan gasket on one of these motors?? Thanks, --Mike |
