Hi, I'm hoping for some advice on a problem I'm having with my bravo 3
outdrive. It's a single installation connected to a 250hp D-tronic diesel in a Searay 290. I'm sorry I don't have the serial no ( boat is in murky water) but it is a 1997 model. While cruising at about 3300 rpm today I heard a faint clunk from somewhere aft and headed back home to check it out. On investigation back at the dock a distinct "clicking" sound can be heard which is definitely coming from the outdrive. The sound is engine rev sensitive and is present in both neutral and forward gear however it stops when reverse gear is engaged. Triming or tilting the drive all the way up or moving the steering from full lock to full lock has no effect on the sound. The drive oil in the monitor is clean and is at the right level and the drive itself is clean and in good condition having recently been serviced. The speedometer stopped working a couple of days ago but I just assumed it was debris in the pick up hole. the propellers are in good shape and all the anodes are intact and secure. The boat is slightly under powered and when fully laden struggles to come up on the plane, once over the hump however she will cruise at 23/4 knots and top out at about 28k. Hope you can help with this problem and any advise would be appreciated. |
