Some people who do not speak well in front of TV cameras or large audiences, are terrific speakers in smaller discussion groups, at social functions, and in one-on-one dialogue. I believe this describes Bush. OK, but that doesn't make it fact. My own belief is that incoherent speech or writing indicates incoherent thought. Not fact either. ... Go look at what some of the 9/11 panel members (including the partisan ben-Veniste) had to say about Bush's performance before their committee. Uh huh. And do you think that GWB went in front of that committee and spoke his mind, with no prep and no rehearsing? So to answer your question: no I don't think Bush is a moron for having misspoke. If it was just misusing a word now and then, I'd agree. But he rambles like a moron and misuses words constantly. He's actually funnier than the people who mimic him... or at least, he would be if it weren't so scary that he is actually the President. BTW thanks for letting me make this point. Good work, comrade! DSK |
