Not really. A lot of the restrictions are use related and not "thou
shalt not have" related. If you don't, or can't, use it, it satisfies the requirements. I fish several lakes around here what have either hp restrictions or electric motor only restrictions and as long as I keep the engine out of the water clearly demonstrating that I'm not using it, I've never been hassled. I have had people surrounding lakes call DEP, but when they show up, I just show that I haven't used the engine - they go away happy. Check the restriction language - some lakes are 6 hp or no wake lakes which means you can use a larger motor, you just can't produce a wake. Thanks. I need to check the info on those lakes to find out the exact language of the restriction. Jay Chan |

I can easily dismount my 40HP Nissan single-handedly, but the thing /is/ 171 pounds and so awkward to maneuver that mounting it by myself is nigh-on impossible. It takes two to get the through bolts in the right holes. I also would recommend a lift for anything over 25. -- ~/Garth - 1966 Glastron V-142 Skiflite: "Blue-Boat" "There is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats." -Kenneth Grahame, The Wind in the Willows |

My 2 stroke 15hp Mariner weighed 89#. Was the max I wanted to manhandle on
the back of the 14' boat. "Garth Almgren" wrote in message ... Around 9/15/2005 7:24 AM, wrote: My 40hp motor weighs about 300 pounds. A four stroke?
