They're over in Iraq, firing rockets into Iraqi wedding parties. Gee - who owned those big OD choppers I saw on the news tonight hauling load after load of people they had rescued? |
"Harry Krause" wrote in message ... Most of the emphasis of these Bush officials was on law enforcement, not relief. That's because the relief workers cannot safely get into the areas without being shot at with AK-47's. Perhaps you'd like to volunteer to drive a small rescue skiff into those areas? |

Other groceries are similar, except for some frozen items. If supplies aren't delivered to HOUSTON that quickly, it's because nobody has tried hard enough. If this is the case, President Nookular should be stuck in the crowd with the hungry so he can live with them until the right thing is done: Let the grocery business handle it, and wire them the funds. Your trucks do well in six feet of water? Houston isn't the problem. Have you seen what remains of I-10? Have you seen what happens when the looters, armed with AK-47's, surround one of the rescue vehicles ? What kind of friggin' animal shoots at relief helicopters, national guardsmen, and police officers? |

. .. There are over a dozen (12) police, National Guard, Coast Guard, and Medical Evac helicopters being used in New Orleans. They briefly stopped evacuating 2 hospitals today when a helicopter came under small arms fire. Here's a grizzly thought: Ku Klux Klan or similar types, taking this opportunity to shoot black people while the cops are helpless? |

I really don't understand why people like that haven't been gunned down without any questions, warnings or conversations. |

This is a new low, even for Harry. So you're saying pointing out the complete ineptness of our government to provide basic food, shelter and safety should be ignored because it makes some politicians look bad? Yeah, screw the needy, let's make sure the white collar criminals don't look bad. bb At three days after the event (Katrina) we are talking about people without water and food. In Florida, everyone had food and water after the hurricanes, we all keep a supply handy in case of a hurricane. Every season we are told hundreds of times to keep food and water on hand. I've got 40 gallons of diesel fuel and a generator already connected to my home/business. That's enough for 5 days of 100% power for everything except the water heater, clothes drier and Electric stove. At 6 miles inland and 27 feet above sea level I'm safe from the 25 foot storm surges of a cat 5. I expect damage to my building and keep ropes and tarps on had to fix leaks in the roof. The people seaward of me I'd take in on a temp basis until they found permanent housing. Why isn't this being done in Louisiana? Someone needs to say this nationally if only to keep it from being repeated. Your first duty is to be prepared for the safety of yourself and your family. To depend totally on the government or others is to make yourself dependant. Inept government, hmmmm the government you deserve. |
