I have a 14' caper cat width 7 1/2', weight 245lbs and drafting 9
inches. it has an attachment on the back for an outboard and im wondering... what sort of prop depth would be reasonable to expect performance? Obviously id like to keep the prop as shallow as possible so i can keep all the advantages of my shallow draft, but having it too shallow will leave me with no bite in the waves. I've got a good price on a short shaft outboard, but am i likely to be disappointed? I've read after searching different stories about having the either the top or bottom of the prop level with the bottom of the hull... is this also true for shallow draft cats? Thanks, Shaun |
