Default Tallest wave measured

Hurricane Ivan generated a wave 91 feet. Although, scientists suspect
they missed some as tall as 132 feet.

Ah, that was interesting.

I remember an discussion a while back about huge waves and one of the
discussion points was how the waves were measured - from Sea Level or
from the bottom of the trough.

Good to know that those of us who thought the correct way to measure
wave height was from the trough to the highest point are
correctomundo. :)

My Dad, and his fellow DE commanders when they all got together, swore
that he spent more time under water than on top of it when on WWII
convoy duty in the North Atlantic during storm season. They used to
joke about qualifying for a submariner's badge.

We have another local fishhouse that charges $35.00 for the same dinner.
It's on the waterfront. Its fishcakes are no better than the less
expensive place.

And why, pray tell, do you not give names? Surely you're not referring to
Stoney's?

Stoney's? Well, it has a nice restaurant in Solomons and another on
Broomes Island, but I think it is grossly overpriced.

Exactly, so what's the name of the $10 dinner place with the great crabcakes?
The second one sounded like Stoney's, about $30 for a crabcake sandwich.

Really great fresh fresh fresh seafood at great prices. Nothing fancy
about the restaurants. We like the one on Old Solomons Island Road, just
south of Annapolis. It's a a fishmarket/restaurant with maybe a dozen
tables.

Two crabcake dinner for a ten spot. No kidding. And at least the equal
of Stoney's in terms of crabcake quality.

Thanks. May give it a try.

I've been there!!!

We went when we were at Annapolis for a graduation from the Naval
Academy.

Very good sea food. I was mightily impressed and sea food isn't one
of my favorite sources of protein.

The Legal $eafood here is grossly overpriced, the service is terrible,
and the food is OK at best. It's located in a tourist trap, a shopping
mall, so that might be the difference. The single location restaurants
are usually a better choice. I've had some of the best seafood in
restaurants I would never visit if it wasn't for a recommendation from a
"local". I guess the same could be said for other restaurants (steaks,
ribs, etc.)

Dan

You should. Everything is fresh. It is one of the two places where I'll
order raw cherrystones. The other is Legal Seafood.
