Whattya need the thing for, anyway? :-) Actually, it's kind of neat to use on some of the local lakes - you get a good idea of the contours and can match up the finder with the GPS. Also, I've been up on Lake Qinsigamond in Shrewsbury which is in a very deep valley when fog just came up and you can't see the front of the boat. It's a big help getting you back to the launch ramp safely. And it's a great spare for the big boat - just plug it in if the main GPS drops off, push a couple of magic buttons and I'm back on line. |
