I hope all you fathers out there are having a great Father's Day! One of my
daughters is in West Virginia, the other is at Nags Head, NC, and the wife is in Boca Raton, Florida, at her nephew's wedding. That means I'm all alone and get to do exactly what I want to. I got to prune bushes and trees and not once hear the wife tell me not to cut too much! Oh happy day! -- John H "All decisions are the result of binary thinking." |

I had breakfast in bed, made deviled eggs with my daughter, went to the beach with the dogs (and kids), had a lobster, shrimp, and crab dinner, and just to keep it on topic, we finished by showing my son the boat we intend to buy. And to top it off, when my wife asked when I was going to paint the house I told her I wasn't because I was going to be on the water with my son every week to make sure we get our money's worth out of the boat. Have or hope ya'll had a good Father's Day. |

Sounds like you had a great day otherwise. Glad to hear it! -- John H "All decisions are the result of binary thinking." |

Got a call from Number 1 daughter while just waking up. They got a new dog yesterday, so were up early. Only bad part of the day. Other daughter caller at a more reasonable time. Their gift did not arrive yet, so Father's day is continued until UPS arrives. Thought of taking the boat out, but cool and breezy, so went up to Mt. Diable State Park and did some hiking. Wife gave me a gift certificate for 45 laps in a rent a race car at the local 1/2 mile oval. Life is good. Did have to buy a new battery and tach for the boat yesterday. Figured the batter was crap and did not last long. Was a 2001 battery and ran low on water. So that was acceptable. |

A brother of mine got a free 'flying lesson' up in the Seattle area. That sounded like something I'd enjoy also. -- John H "All decisions are the result of binary thinking." |

Years ago, I got an hour in a 707 simulator. Very cool. The old Western Airlines sim. |

This was a few years ago - pre 9/11 - but my oldest boy showed up at the door with four of his buddies in tow, kidnapped me and the next thing I knew, I'm in a jump suit, parachute on my back and sitting in the rear seat of a F/A 18 Hornet trainer doing loops, spins, barrel rolls and play "dog fighting" out past Martha's Vineyard. I've ridden around Talladega in a Plymouth Super Bird at 190 mph, but this was - well, it's hard to describe. Super, outstanding, superior - just can't describe the feeling. It was almost as much fun as landing on a carrier in a COD. |

You'll get your carrier landing when you get elected. Just hang in there. -- John H "All decisions are the result of binary thinking." |
