I'm very seriously thinking of getting a 14-16 foot bare necessity boat with a 25-40 horse outboard to hit the river with. great fuel economy and good for shallow depth. Plus if you hit something the engine bucks up, amd you don't rip the lower end off your I/O! Thanks for your post. I'm really getting tempted now. I did a favor for a boat dealer last summer and this was the end result. I got the boat, electric start 25 hp tiller Johnson and trailer as part of the compensation. I ran it for about a hour last fall when I picked it up - it went from fall to winter in the space of a week last year, so I've been putting some time on it this "spring". I should have purchased one of these years ago. The entire boat/engine/trailer package is worth about $4,700 US - the trolling motor, X-85 (used) and batter adds another $250 and if you want to count the handheld chartplotter for another $850, the whole package is under $6,000. And I'll say one thing for Princecraft - this is a quality boat- almost in the Lund category. I'm very impressed with it. Later, Tom |
