I overheated a 1997 Volvo Penta 4.3gi. Following this the motor would not
start. After inspection I pulled all the plugs out and the #5 and #3 cylinders had sea water in them. I don't know if this is from a blown head gasket or cracked block. Is the engine ruined either way? What steps would you take with the mechanic? Water pressure test? Thanks Jeff |

And they warp when overheated. If they are warped, just have the guy surface them and reinstall. |

A compression test is needed. Good luck. -- -Netsock "It's just about going fast...that's all..." http://home.columbus.rr.com/ckg/ |

Thanks Jeff Just put the plugs back in, and run it. I get so sick of people creating their own engine/boat problems, when they dont have any.
