I overheated a 1997 Volvo Penta 4.3gi. Following this the motor would not
start.
After inspection I pulled all the plugs out and the #5 and #3 cylinders
had
sea water in them. I don't know if this is from a blown head gasket or
cracked block. Is the engine ruined either way? What steps would you
take
with the mechanic? Water pressure test?
Thanks
Jeff
How hot did it get?
Unless it reached melt-down point, you're probably looking at head gaskets,
and maybe a warped head.
A compression test is needed.
Good luck.
