Well, I suppose so, but the way I saw it, the Smithers posts all had one thing
in common, a personal attack against you. Also, Smithers himself coined the
term, you just applied a definition.

The 'daniel joseph min' guy didn't fall into that category.

Just slightly wrong. The smithers of today attacks all off topic posters.
One goal, to make this a boating newsgroup and not a political forum for
any side or a place to dump a holding tank of crap.

Ah, I see. Nothing wrong with having a boating newsgroup. Have you thought about
getting yourself one of these:

There you go! THAT'S the "tone of the newsgroup" that you are trying

so
hard to change to??????

He wasn't from our group. I could care less about the group he posted

from. Does
changing the tone of the group upset you? You seem to be having a

hard time with
the idea.

Crap, are you drinking alot, again, John? You seem to have a hard time
understanding that anyone with any sense at all wouldn't think that
spewing profanity, like "horse****", "bull****", etc, as you do daily,
is HELPING "the tone of the group". Now, I'll try to ask it again so
that you may comprehend the question. Do you think that by using
profanity in YOUR posts and YOUR replies, is "helping change the tone
of the newsgroup" for the better?

bk, you seem to be looking for an argument today. OK...

Ah, no, John, I'm looking for you to answer my question.

Why don't you, Fritz, Hertvik, and Herring try ignoring each other

for,
say, a year or so? :}

Calm down Harry. Your kind of calling the kettle black here. Seems you
don't mind engaging those people.

I'm not even a Democrat, and this thread certainly inspired me to
repent--

I'm sorry I opened it. :-)

Harry, why do you leave yourself out? How about something like: "How about if
you, Fritz, Hertvik, Herring (who has been pretty good lately), and myself knock
off the inane, name-calling, babyish, political bickering for say a year or so?
:)
