Default L-Drive on Bayliner Capri! Any Opinions?

Have received an offer to purchase a '90 Bayliner Capri with an L-drive
for under a thousand bucks. It's a 19-footer, with trailer. I know
Bayliner puts out an economy line and was witness to a near sinking of
an anchored 24-footer when a floating log punctured its hull. It's the
oddball L-drive and the fact that the engine requires a gas-oil mixture
that worries me. Any suggestions, recommendations?

If the trailer is in good shape, it might be worth the $1k alone.

On the other hand, if the only thing attracting you to this vessel is
the (supposed) bargain price, I'd suggest you pass. Remember, the
seller knows a lot more about that boat right now than you do, and he
or she would rather have a few hundred dollars cash.

Caveat Emptor.

I'm not one of the "bayliner-hater" crowd, but there is a reason that it's
for sale that cheap. If it sounds to good to be true.....

Not bashing Bayliners.....but the dreaded Force L drive was the biggest
nightmare ever foisted upon the boating public.
In that monstrosity they managed to combine the worst of 2 worlds......the
outdrive of an inboard/outboard and the powerhead of an outboard.

If the trailer is super sharp it's worth something.

The boat is worth near zero.

Run away as fast as you can.
