I'll find the link, but here's the text: "Billionaires Join Soros to Defeat Bush George Soros says he would pony up his $7 billion fortune if it could defeat George Bush this November. Soros has already donated tens of millions to groups like MoveOn.org and left-wing "527s" to defeat Bush. But Soros is not the only billionaire who has a passionate hatred for George Bush. MoveOn recently reported that Peter B. Lewis, chairman of Progressive Corp., has already given $1.5 million to the group. Lewis is so anxious to help MoveOn he now promises to match the amount contributed to MoveOn by any contributor, 50 cents for each dollar donated up to $20,000. " Ahhh. Good for Lewis. And at least it is personal, not business. Lewis represents a corporation on the NYSE and he's held accountable to the stockholders. His choice to openly oppose Bush will have a negative impact on his company...both in the near-term, and, especially if Bush is reelected. |

What do the Moonies at the Wash Times have to say? His donation history to moveon.org is an irrefutable fact...it's not Newmax's opinion. You seem to have a hard time differentiating between objective and subjective writing. I find this perplexing since you write for a living. |

Here's the link: http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2...2/222640.shtml Here's how Newsmax ends that piece...with an ad for Bush: Editor's note: Urgent: President Bush needs your support – Click Here Now and show your support to your friends and family Talk about whoring. If you notice, my original post had no mention of Newsmax. I don't like their "spin" on issues, so I usually don't repost their articles. However, Newsmax does report on stories that other news agencies don't mention. In this case, I found it useful to know that the director of Progressive insurance had given $1.5 million to moveon.org. Now that I know that, I also know that I won't be doing business with them...and I'll convince as many other Bush-supporters to do the same thing. |

It's not the donation I am questioning, although I wouldn't consider Newsmax a source for anything except political mischief. It's the innuendo and editorializing in the rest of the piece that is so typical of right-wing "news" sources. If "newsmax" renamed itself "right-wing slant," it would at least be truthful on that issue. -- Email sent to is never read. |

![]() "Harry Krause" wrote in message ... Wow...you sound like a refugee from the Third Reich...or at least the old Sov Evil Empire. Despite Bush, this is still a relatively free country and individuals are encouraged to speak out for the political candidates of their choice. You righties really do want to stifle democracy. Your right to free speech doens't mean I have to listen to you. Your right to free speech doesn't mean I have to agree with what you say. Your right to free speech doesn't mean your are free from criticism of your speech. If free speech is so precious to you why do you not defend opressors of free speech regardless of where the opression occurs and regardless of their political leanings? Bert |

Despite Bush, this is still a relatively free country and individuals are encouraged to speak out for the political candidates of their choice. You righties really do want to stifle democracy. BTW, if you had a real email address, I could point you towards a new Penn Slammer 560 that may be had for around $100. I've seen 'em around for $110.95. But, I'm not in the market right now, as I have a Stradic 5000 (the bigger model before they downsized it), and a Penn 7500 SS. Both are working wonderfully, and spooled with PowerPro, can catch most fish swimming in the Gulf. My next reel *will* be the Slammer, however. I bought the Stradic 3 years ago, and now wish I had waited. At the time, Penn didn't have an infinite anti-reverse spinning reel....nor a reel that was as light. The Slammer looks like one of those reels that I can fish with for the next 15 years and then give to my son...who'll eventually give it to his son. I'd buy it myself, but I don't need anything that heavy. I'm looking for a deal on a 360, maybe a 260. If "newsmax" renamed itself "right-wing slant," it would at least be truthful on that issue. I can't argue with you that Newsmax isn't right-winged biased. However, just because an editorial piece appears in a more mainstream paper or news outlet doesn't mean it's any less biased. Reporters don't report on facts anymore. Every article that is posted seems to have a slant to it. For instance, the Reuter's piece that you posted the other day about the job market and economy quoted a financial "analyst" who has a history of bashing conservative-leaning governments...both here and in Israel. |

Do you know something about BoatUS or CNA that I don't know? |
