A 22' Crestliner was a heavy big boat. It is not like your aluminum jet
boat. It has a lot more interior and wood in the hull. Not sure what an X-30 is. My guess is the boat w/ motor and fuel and etc.. will weight in at close to 4500 lbs. The trailer will weight 1500 for a 22' boat w/ tandum axle. Even if your right - 3500 lbs towing on a Rendezvous will not work. -- Tony my boats and cars at http://t.thomas.home.mchsi.com "mgg" wrote in message om... I have to agree with you Bill. My buddy has an X-30 (~22ft) that doesn't quite hit 5000# with gas. --Mike "Calif Bill" wrote in message ink.net... "tony thomas" wrote in message news:SqOYd.63216$r55.11081@attbi_s52... Boat, trailer, battery (or batteries), fuel, life jackets, etc... will put this boat at 6000 lbs if not more. You really need to get it weighted at a local truck scale to know for sure. I would hope you have a friend who has a truck you could use for a couple of hours. You want something with a towing capacity of 7000 or more to be able to maintain a decent speed with it. Since the Rendezvous equipped with the optional towing package is only rated for 3500 lbs - Definetly not. The extended length Trail Blazer / Envoy w/ the V8 is rated to 7000 lbs which should work fine. Also I am sure the Expedition, Yukon, etc.. are probably rated about the same or more and would work fine in an SUV. Otherwise - full size pickup w/ V8 engine. -- Tony my boats and cars at http://t.thomas.home.mchsi.com "Jim," wrote in message news ![]() it with ( my Chevy Caviler is NOT gonna do it). I've tried researching on the net, but Crestliner seems to no longer make cruisers (the boat I got is an 81) How do I find the weight, and can someone suggest a reasonably good tow vehicle, that will also serve for daily use around town. Given the price of gas, millage will be a consideration. I like the looks of the Buick Rendezvous, but is the towing capacity sufficient? I doubt it is that heavy. Probably more in the 4500# range. My 21' Inboard aluminum jetboat (0.190 thick metal) weighs in about #4400 on the trailer with 67 gallons of gas and fishing gear. |

But my Duramax Crew cab tows like nothing is there, and gets 18 mpg at 65-70 on the freeway. But the price is not cheap! |

I have a 2003 Trail Blazer EXT w/ the I6 and it does fine towing my 3500 lbs
Eliminator. Also does good towing my dads 4400 lbs pontoon boat. The V8 has a lot more torque. Rated for 7000 lbs should do fine at 6000 or under. I doubt your 96 Blazer had a V8 w/ 300 hp and 330 lb-ft of torque. -- Tony my boats and cars at http://t.thomas.home.mchsi.com "Calif Bill" wrote in message nk.net... Nope, it had 195 hp and the V6. But you also knew the boat was back there
when towing and stopping. Bill "tony thomas" wrote in message news:mB0Zd.65308$r55.58646@attbi_s52... I have a 2003 Trail Blazer EXT w/ the I6 and it does fine towing my 3500 lbs Eliminator. I have a tendency to exceed the 55 mph speed limit while towing. Bill |

I have a Palomino B-800 pop up camper on the truck Short bed, crew cab, and the camper weighs about 1100#. With the camper and towing I get about 13.9 according to the truck computer. The camper is really nice, takes about 5 minutes to set up and only is about 8-10" above the truck cab. Has a queen size bed over the cab. They make models for long beds also. Bill |

85-90 last night in the Shasta-Cascade mountains and I averaged 17.9 mpg for the trip. Coming back I had about 700# of new 5.7L MPI engine for the boat settign in the bed of the truck.
