Hi Everyone,
I'm new to this group also to boating, me and my friend acquired this small fishing boat (14 ft) and the previous owner mentions that it might have a small leak around the bottom where the boat sits on the rollers, but he is not sure. So my question is there a good why of finding the leak without putting it on the water. One direction that we have in our mind is to hose water inside the boat and see if there is any water dripping out from the bottom of the boat... Thanks for your suggestions !!! |

Lift the boat clear of the trailer and put a couple of inches of water into the boat. The leak may take a few minutes to show up, but it will show up. A little water isn't' going to hurt anything and is a perfectly valid way of finding a lead in a small boat. If you can't find a leak, chances are the water is coming in from the stern plug. Good luck. Later, Tom |
