I did, however, practice head shots at 10 to 25 feet. It's pretty easy
with a .22, but takes practice to be able to put a full magazine of .40
S&W into a paper plate at 25' because of the recoil. it's a little
easier with a 9mm. I use paper plates because of the contrast with the
background and because they are sort of head size.

I would stick with a good shotgun. I read thet experts feel handguns can be
somewhat ineffective with a person rushing you at close range. I'm betting
Tuuk presents a small target.
