questions for me I would really appreciate it!


Can some of you point me in the direction of some good websites for new
sailors? My searches haven't turned up much.

Also, are there any good forums or bulletin boards for small sailboats on
the net? Again, my searches have turned up very little (none of the boards
that I have found seem to get used)

Also, has anyone ever heard of KITE sailboats? I'm restoring a 1970 KITE
12' boat, but can't find a thing about this boat on the net.

Any help is greatly apprecaited!

hppt://www.sailboatowners.com has numerous forums. Pretty much anything
you want. This one has a couple of additional ones for Hunter boats:

Catalina direct has a couple of forum sites

There are mailing lists available on sailnet.com if you navigate around
a little. Subscribe to a few and see if they are helpful.

My boat is a 20 year old Hunter 25.5. I get a lot of information from
the hunterowners.com forum (in sailboatowners.com) and the Catalina 27
mailing list from sailnet. Though the Cat27 list isn't for my specific
boat, there is a lot of general information that is covered on that mail
list. At lest there is if you're getting into a smaller keel boat.

Asking for information in Good Old Boat Magazine will always get replies on
any rare old boat.
They have a website.

The magazine is a must have for any new sailor that does his own work on an
old or new boat.

If the Kite is a wooden boat, try the Traditional Small Craft Association at
www.tsca.net. They also have an e-mail group at http://groups.yahoo.com that is
fairly active and has a good response time.
