Great vocal music 24/7, programmed by WGMS-FM, the leading commercial classical music station in the USA. Decent sound, even out of crapola computer speakers. Great for the marina. Seriously, How many times can one hear Verdi's La Traviata (regardless who sings) without putting a gun to your head and pulling the trigger? :) I dunno, Tom. You think the station has a short play list? Probably in terms of what they play - not in terms of who actually performs. There certainly are nuances to the way one individual performs a piece of music vs another, but there are only so many variations on a theme. Consider that the only true piece of unique classical music was Wagner's Ring Cycle and that was so incredibly depressing in scope and sound that is hardly worth the bother except for the pseudo intellectual babble that normally surrounds the individual set pieces. And to tell the truth, one piece by Vivaldi sounds like any other written by him. Give me Manhattan Transfer any day. :) Later, Tom |
