I had plans to do some chores here at the new house today but it was
bright and sunny this morning with temperatures headed for the low 80s. When my neighbor asked me if I wanted to go fishing that was all I needed to hear and it was off to Walmart for a Florida salt water fishing license, and then down to the bait shop for 4 dozen live shrimp. We fished the south end of Sanibel Island near the Point Ybel lighthouse for about 3 hours. The beaches were crowded with good looking sun chasers and the pelicans were active, but the fish were not. My neighbor caught one keeper mackrel and we caught dozens of small stuff, mostly baby grouper, but nothing worth mentioning. It sure was a heck of a nice day on the water however. |
