Jaxass was the one the knots per hour was refered to. He wants it that way.
And like Burger King, he gets it.

Bill,

I agree he's dumb as dirt, but a "knot" is not referred to as "per
hour" & kph usually refers to kilometers per hour most everywhere that
is metric which is most everywhere except the US.

A knot is special in the sense it's a measure of time combined with
distance in itself (when a board is thrown astern with an attached rope,
so many knots 47.25ft apart, passed in 28 seconds) or 0.5144444 m/s or
1.688888 f/s or 1.853 kph or it's a minute of latitude on the earth's
surface traveled in one hour.

It's true @ 1 knot you will have traveled 6080ft or 1 nautical mile in
an hour & then you could express that as a speed of 1 nautical mile per
hour or 1 knot, never 1 knot per hour:-)

K

Takeoff and
landing is at about 160 in most of the heavys.

but

does find it incredible that jet airliners travel at the incredible

speed

of

175 knots per hour thusly:

Yup, I admit I like to read comic books. At least years ago. If I

still
had those books that cost 10 cents, I could buy a couple of Lobsta

boats.

I

guess you do not like Batman, and Spiderman movies, or books. Or most

any

other movie out there. And Jet airliners can travel at 175 knots.

They

do

it every day they fly. I read all kinds of books. Maybe you ought to

try

it. And I am even getting a Gameboy Advance to kill time on long

airplane

trips. So I even like kid games. Growing old is not an option,

growing

up

is.

westcoast nut case bill admits he loves to read comic books thusly:

Just finished a fun novel by Clive Cussler. Our hero, Dirk PItt,

used

a 25 ft. Parker w/ 275 Yamaha OB as a salvage vessel on Lake

Michigan.

Sound familiar??

Nope. Nothing Cussler writes sounds familiar to anything real.

More real than your writing. And a lot more fun to read.

billie, cussler has made a lot of money writing totally off the wall

stories

for little boys who fancy themselves heros for a long time.

Wasn't it cussler who wrote about the jet airliner traveling at the

incredible

speed of 175 knots per hour?

I may be nuts, but I am not stupid like you. And I can even spell stupid!
And other than some school time in the Midwest and USAF time it the south, I
am a native SF Bay Area person. What is your excuse for being extremely
stupid.

westcoast nutter, you asked how I got so stupid. First off I didn't join any
chicken**** outfit such as the af. Second, I did join Mensa as a young man,
figuring I might get my hands on a belly dancer by the name of Moracco who
spoke seven languages. Third, I never spent time in the cereal bowl
(everything that ain't fruits and nuts is roughage) sf.

btw, when I did meet the beautifu belly dancer I found I really did not like
her. I spent less than sixty seconds with her before I turned and walked away,
seven languages or not.

I turned down Mensa as almost all those I met were not people who I wanted
to associate with on a regular basis. And if you can get done wiht a belly
dancer in 60 seconds, I understand why you have gone blind.
