My kids flew in from NY last week for the holidays and we enjoyed several nice excursions to the near by tropical beaches. Water temperature in the Gulf of Mexico has dropped quite a bit however. It is now down to 73 degrees. That may sound warm to a Canadian but it's downright chilly compared to mid-summer 90 degrees. Oh, you make me sick! I bought my second sailboat in Clearwater in march 86 or so, and went wading in Miami a few days before. The water was so warm! The hookers and pimps in their fur coats at the motel breakfast bar where we had parked our camper van thought my wife and I were scandalously underdressed in our t shirts, shorts and flip flops. They all seemed to know that we were Maple Slurpers. Perhaps it was our license plates? I am now so depressed that I must go see if the snow has burst the tarp on my boat in the back yard, yet... Maybe I'll put on my parka, go sweep it off and make a log entry. *SOB!* How much would a little shack in Florida cost to buy? Say, just a little bigger than an ice fishing hut? Terry K |
