Default Snow on my boat

Snowed today and I have 3" on my sailboat. I haven't got the canvas tarp on
yet, but if things warm up one day this week that'll be top priority.
Was checking out a Sony 5.1 megapixel Cybershot on sales at Sears. Wife mad
that she had to tell me she was getting me one for Christmas before I ran
out and bought one. Anyone here use that model? I think Consumers magazine
likes it. I'll have to search back issues of the magazine for a review. Now
I'm looking forward to posting pictures of my Sandpiper 565 online.

Heck, just send it to me and let her buy you another one. That way she is
happy and I am happy. ;-)

That may be a plan. I checked my Consumer Reports magazine and the Sony is
about mid list. Some of the Olympus models rate higher and an HP is listed
as 'best buy' in it's catagory. The SLR type digital cameras in the higher
megapixel range are too expensive still.

I started with a Nikon 5700. I eventually bought the Nikon D70. I wish
I'd waited and bought the D70 to begin with, as I was never satisfied
with the performance of the 5700.

I love the D70!

I have this camera's predecessor, the C-5000

http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_se...&product=93 6

and I really like it a lot. This one is an improvement on mine by a
factor of 5. Nice camera.

I also have an earlier model Olympus camera which I like a lot - it's
taken quite a beating, but it still works and I use it in tough
situations - like on my boats.

Of all the digital cameras I've looked at, Olympus seems to have a
very real handle on how to make a useable software interface that is
very intuitive and easy to use. Compared to Canon or Nikon, they are
miles ahead in that department. And I've always been impressed with
Olympus optics.

The odd thing is that the C-5000 that I have takes a picture very
comparable to my restored Nikon F1.

Just some food for thought.

Later,

Tom

The Nikon D70 is a great camera. The Canon Digital Rebel is also another
great camera. You cannot go wrong with either one.

I was supposed to go sailing this weekend, but:
1. It was foggy all Saturday morning, and SE gales today, and
2. My Lady decided this weekend would be good for some housecleaning...

Anyway, I was gonna put the tarps on Far Cove after the cruise. Hope it
doesn't snow here for another week...
